Li Penquan (b. 1994, Luoyang, China) bases paints from photographs of the transcendent moments in daily life. In his recent work, Li looks into multi-linear narrative and proactive modes of composition. In addition to painting, he is also experimenting with photography, video, and screen documentation. In real and virtual space, experiences of the transcendent and the absurd remain his focus.

The artist currently lives and works in Guangzhou.
